Nonnas is a 2025 American comedy-drama film directed by Stephen Chbosky and written by Liz Maccie. It is based on the true story of Joe Scaravella. The storyline follows Joe (Vince Vaughn), a New York MTA worker who, after the loss of his mother and grandmother, opens an Italian restaurant. The difference is the staff are exclusively grandmothers (“nonnas”). Joe does this in order to honor the memory of his mom and grandmother.
