Into the Fire: the Lost Daughter

The two-part docuseries, Into the Fire the Lost Daughter, details the cold case of 14-year-old Aundria Bowman, who was murdered by Hamilton resident Dennis Bowman, her adopted father, in 1989. The story is told primarily by her birth mother, Cathy Terkanian, in her quest for justice.

The two-part docuseries begins by introducing us to Cathy, a mom who had given up her baby girl for adoption when she was a teenager. It was a closed adoption so she never knew what happened to the little girl.

Years later, Cathy receives a letter from the adoption agency. Initially, she thought it was a letter saying her daughter was seeking her out. It turned out that it was a letter to inform her that her as the biological mother, that her daughter was missing.

Cathy shows us a fiery no-nonsense personality and once she receives the letter, it sets her on a part to discover what happened to Aundria.

What I liked about the docuseries?

All the interviews were filmed exceptionally well. There was no fluff or unnecessary details. Although there were scenes that were recreated, they were made to explain the roller coaster of this cold case.

Would I watch the series again?

Absolutely! Although some of the scenes were graphic with the descriptions, I would definitely watch this docuseries again.

How would you rate this docuseries?

I would give this a rating of 4 out 5.
