As I was planning a spooky movie night for my family, I realized that creating two separate lists—one for adults and another for children—would make it much easier to cater to everyone’s tastes.
With that in mind, I’ve put together some of my favorite Halloween movies currently streaming on Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video.
Netflix Picks:
Halloween (2018)
If someone were to ask me what the number one movie is for a Halloween marathon, without hesitation, I would say Halloween.
After all, what’s Halloween without Michael Myers? This movie is a must in my opinion. It is the direct sequel to the original Halloween (1978).
The story continues with Laurie Strode gearing up for her final showdown against the iconic masked killer.
A Quiet Place Part II (2021)
In A Quiet Place, a family must live in silence to avoid creatures that hunt by sound. The sequel takes the terror even further as they venture into new dangers.
Bird Box (2018)
I’ve always loved watching Sandra Bullock movies, and Bird Box is no exception. As expected, she delivers an outstanding performance in this intense thriller.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world where simply seeing the outside can drive people insane, the movie creates a chilling, high-stakes atmosphere.
It’s a tense and gripping watch that will undoubtedly leave you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. If you’re in the mood for suspense and survival drama, Bird Box is a must-watch.
Fear Street Part One: 1994, Part Two: 1978, Part Three: 1666 (2021)
This throwback slasher trilogy takes us through the chilling events of a summer camp massacre and a town cursed by a centuries-old witch, perfect for fans of classic horror with a modern twist.
The Babysitter (2017) & The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020)
These horror-comedies follow a young boy whose babysitter is part of a satanic cult.
Both films are packed with humor, gore, and plenty of surprises, making them perfect for fans of horror with a comedic twist.
Bride of Chucky (1998)
Chucky meets his match with the introduction of Tiffany in this campy, horror-comedy. If you’re into slasher flicks with a sense of humor, this is a must-watch.
Wendell & Wild (2022)
From the creators of The Nightmare Before Christmas, this stop-motion film follows two demon brothers trying to escape the underworld. With quirky animation and a darkly comedic tone, it’s perfect for those who love unique Halloween adventures.
Scream (1996)
Scream was one of the most popular movies when I was growing up in the 1990s.
If you’re a fan of suspense, then you’re in for a treat because Scream is packed with it. In fact, I’ve watched this movie several times over the years, and each time, it feels just as gripping—it never gets old.
The story revolves around a group of teens who find themselves terrorized by a mysterious, masked killer, and the tension will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
Curse of Chucky (2013)
You can never go wrong with watching a Chucky-related movie—it’s a horror staple that always delivers. Curse of Chucky is another film I’ve watched countless times, and it still manages to keep me on edge.
In this installment, the infamous Chucky doll makes his chilling return, terrorizing a new family with his twisted antics.
What sets Curse of Chucky apart is that it’s a darker, scarier reboot of the series, successfully bringing back the original dread that made the franchise so iconic. If you’re a fan of horror, this one is a must-watch.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
I consider this Halloween movie to be one of the most terrifying films in horror history. You are guaranteed to have moments of fear.
The story follows a group of friends who, tragically, fall victim to the horrifying Leatherface and his cannibalistic family. In fact, it’s perfect for hardcore horror fans looking for pure, unfiltered terror from beginning to end.

Hocus Pocus (1993) & Hocus Pocus 2 (2022)
The Sanderson sisters are back to wreak havoc on Halloween night. These magical comedies are a mix of nostalgia, humor, and witchy fun.
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
The Nightmare Before Christmas is the perfect blend of spooky and festive. Most people watch this during both Halloween (and Christmas) seasons.
Gravity Falls (2012-2016)
This movie is not just for adults only. Gravity Falls is perfect for a binge with its supernatural mysteries and clever humor.
Werewolf by Night in Color (2023)
This Marvel special is a thrilling homage to classic monster movies, with just the right blend of horror and superhero action.

This movie centers around a cursed town and introduces sinister forces that push a group of friends into a fight for survival.
Elvira’s 10 Nights of Halloween: Evil Bong (2021)
