Anatomy of an Alibi by Ashley Elston
Everyone at Chantilly’s Bar couldn’t take their eyes off Camille Bayliss, bold red lips, designer heels, and sipping a Negroni. But the woman turning heads isn’t Camille at all. It’s Aubrey Price.
From the outside, Camille seems to have everything: a wealthy Louisiana family, a glamorous lifestyle, and a charming husband, Ben Bayliss. Ben is a rising star in the legal world. But behind closed doors, Camille is terrified. She’s convinced Ben has been hiding secrets for years, yet she can’t prove it because he watches her every move and tracks her like she’s already guilty of something.
Aubrey, on the other hand, has spent the last decade haunted by the night that shattered her life. She believes Ben knows the truth about what happened, and she’s done waiting for answers. After years of surviving in a world filled with criminals, Aubrey knows exactly how dangerous people hide their secrets and how to expose them.
So when Aubrey and Camille cross paths, they strike a risky deal. The plan is simple: for twelve hours, Aubrey will pretend to be Camille while the real Camille secretly follows Ben, searching for proof. In exchange, Aubrey gets access to the one man she’s been hunting for years. But by morning, Ben is dead.
Now both women are trapped in a nightmare they never saw coming. They need perfect alibis, but only one of them has one. And as suspicion grows and lies tighten like a noose, Camille and Aubrey realize the truth they wanted may destroy them both because in a game built on deception, one mistake is all it takes for everything to fall apart.

“The story is told from multiple perspectives, including that of the victim and also through different timelines. We get the point of view of Camille, Aubrey, Ben, and also Hank, who is Ben’s partner at their law firm. The book gives us a lot of suspense and unfolds in a way that continuously held our attention. Even though there are a few twists in the middle and there are parts of the story that were predictable, we certainly did not see the ending coming. We also liked the fact that the book gave us other character arcs that can be built upon if the author chooses to do so.
If you enjoy books like The Missing Half by Ashley Flowers, The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave, and Beautiful Ugly by Alice Feeney, then you will enjoy this book.”
