The 98th Academy Awards took place earlier this evening. This year’s nominees included major studio releases, streaming contenders, and international favorites across the biggest categories.

The awards took place at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and was hosted by television host and comedian Conan O’Brien. The ceremony aired live on ABC at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, and streamed live on Hulu.

Miles Caton along with other performers including ballerina Misty Copeland and artist Shaboozey gave us a beautiful musical tribute to Sinners.

Billy Crystal spoke about his friendship with the late Rob Reiner and his wife Michele. He also talked about Steiner’s work and the lasting impact he had on the industry. “My friend Rob’s movies will last a lifetime,” he said.

Barbra Streisand also honored Robert Redford with a touching tribute and performed the song The Way We Were.

The awards ceremony also paid tribute to members of the academy who passed away over the past year, including Val Kilmer, Catherine O’Hara, Diane Keaton, and Robert Duvall, among many others. May they all continue to rest in peace.

Michael B. Jordan won the award for best actor in a leading role for his roles in Sinners, while Jessie Buckley won for best actress in a leading role. One Battle After Another took the lead in terms of the number of awards with six awards including best picture, best director, best actor in a supporting role, best adapted screenplay, best casting, and best film editing.

Ryan Coogler’s film, Sinners won several categories including best original screenplay, achievement in cinematography, best original score, and best actor. Netflix’s Frankenstein and F1 also took home several awards.
