AMAA 2024: African Cinema Shines at the 20th Annual Awards

The 20th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) took place on November 2, 2024, in Lagos, Nigeria. The Awards celebrated outstanding achievements in African cinema.

The Big Winners:

The Weekend – Directed by Daniel Emeka Oriahi4 Awards for Best Film, Best Nigerian Film, and Achievement in both Screenplay and Cinematography!

The Queenstown Kings – Directed by Jahmil X.T. Qubeka4 Awards for Best Film in an African Language, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Director and Achievement in Sound.

  • Jagun Jagun – Directed by Femi Adebayo3 Awards for Visual Effects, Make-up and for Femi Adebayo’s role in the movie.
