Getting There

My family and I went to Wachusett Mountain for a three-day weekend.

We drove from Boston, and it took us some time to get there (about an hour and 50 minutes). It was rather easy to get there except for some traffic congestion at certain points.

Understanding the route is straightforward: simply head northwest from Boston, following major roads like I-93 and MA-2.

Renting Gear

We already had our ski goggles but we were able to rent skis, snowboards and helmets on-site. It was quite cumbersome to get the gear as there was a large number of people but it was worth the wait.

I would recommend getting your own pair if you would like to make these activities part of your lifestyle.

My plan on arriving there was to ski and snowboard. On Day 1 of my visit, I took a few lessons on snowboarding since I am a beginner.

There were classes for both kids and adults, which is something I appreciated.

Tips for parents: do not schedule your classes for the same time as your children!

For some reason, I mistakenly thought the classes would be offered together and in the same area.

On Day 2, I took a lesson on skiing. Initially, I struggled with this but eventually I was able to get going however slowly!
