Main Plot & Characters
After the Avengers launch an attack on Hydra base and retrieve Loki’s scepter, Tony and Bruce discover that the scepter’s gem holds advanced artificial intelligence. The two of them use it to create Ultron. They did not do this out of mischief but instead they were looking for better ways to protect earth. Tony explained that after the attack on New York he knew more was needed. However, Ultron quickly develops a dark philosophy, concluding that humanity must evolve through destruction.
Joined by enhanced twins Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, who have a grudge against Tony Stark, Ultron attempts to bring about human extinction.
