A 17-year-old teenager, Johanne, becomes infatuated with her French teacher, Johanna. She writes about her feelings in a diary, which eventually is discovered by her mother and grandmother. Their reactions force Johanne and the women in her family to confront their desires and long-suppressed dreams.
