A high-school junior, Ben DeBacker, comes out as nonbinary and is forced out of their home by their parents. With nowhere else to turn, they move in with their estranged older sister Hannah and her husband Thomas. At a new school, Ben struggles with anxiety and identity, but finds hope and belonging when they meet Nathan, a kind classmate who connects with them on a deeper level. The film charts Ben’s journey of self-discovery, friendship and finding a place to belong.
