About the Movie:
Iron Man introduces us to Tony Stark. Tony is a genius, billionaire, playboy, and CEO of Stark Industries. He owns a company that is known for creating advanced weapons for the U.S. military.
On a trip to Afghanistan to demonstrate a new missile, Tony is kidnapped. He is captured by a group called the Ten Rings. They pick him up not for a ransom but to build them a weapon. They provide him with some equipment’s and even though he was under heavy scrutiny, Tony tricks his captors. He goes ahead to build a suit of armor, which he uses to escape. When he returns, the experience really changes his thought process and he decides to change his focus from weapons manufacturing to perfecting his suit, becoming Iron Man.
This movie actually sets the stage for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We follow Tony’s journey and his growth as he transforms from a self-centered weapons manufacturer into a hero.
Setting & Filming Locations
Although the movie takes place in Malibu, California, and the portion were Tony is captured is supposed to be Afghanistan, Iron Man was actually filmed in various locations in California. The desert scenes believe it or not were actually filmed in Lone Pine.
