They’re kidnapped by gunmen disguised as cattle herdsmen, triggering a fight for survival and demands for ransoms. While the story is primarily told in English, there are parts of the story that are told in different local languages including Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa.
The movie is directed by Daniel Etim Effiong, a well-known actor recognized for his roles in films like Aso Ebi Diaries, The Masked King, and Summer Rain. It is Daniel’s first movie in the role of a director.
The Herd was originally released in some cinemas in Nigeria but is now available on Netflix in certain regions around the world.
