


The Wedding Banquet is a 2025 American romantic comedy directed by Andrew Ahn. This film is a contemporary reimagining of Ang Lee’s 1993 classic. The movie is about cultural identity, family expectations, and LGBTQ+ relationships. The narrative follows Min, who, frustrated with his commitment-phobic boyfriend Chris, proposes a green-card marriage to their friend Angela. In exchange, Min offers to fund Angela’s partner Lee’s expensive IVF treatments.
