Visiting Universal Studios Beijing is an unforgettable experience.

This theme park offers thrilling attractions, iconic movie-themed lands, and world-class entertainment for all ages.

If you are planning to visit this theme park, you are in the right place as I have a lot of tips and ideas to share from my visit!

A Little History

Universal Studios Beijing is located in the Tongzhou District.

It opened in 2021 and is the largest Universal Studios Park globally.

The park combines iconic attractions from other Universal parks with exclusive features like the world’s first Transformers Metrobase and the Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness.

Visiting Universal Studios Beijing

Themed Lands and Attractions

Universal Studios Beijing features seven themed lands, each with its own unique experiences and attractions.

I was able to visit Four of the parks during my visit but it required me to spend pretty much the whole day at the park.

Transformers Metrobase

This section of the park is dedicated to the Transformers universe, featuring exciting rides, attractions, and unique experiences.

It is designed to resemble a bustling headquarters for the Autobots.

Rides and Attractions

Decepticoaster
Visitors can take a ride on the Decepticoaster, which is a fast-paced roller coaster.

The Decepticoaster takes guests on a mission where they can join Autobots in their battle against the Decepticons.

Bumblebee Boogie
The Bumblebee Boogie is a family-friendly spinning ride with Bumblebee. The ride is set to fun music and is perfect for younger visitors.

Energon Power Station
The Energon Power Station is a refreshment stop offering drinks inspired by Energon, the Transformers’ power source.

Visitors can also meet life-sized Transformers characters like Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Megatron for photos and interactions.

Walking around, you would notice transformer-themed details, from large statues to displays that bring the world of Transformers to life.

Jurassic World Isla Nublar

This land takes visitors back 65 million years to an age when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. It offers a mix of excitement and awe.

Must-Experience Rides

Jurassic Flyers
Visitors can glide 8 meters above the island on this family-friendly ride. The Jurassic flyers offer breathtaking aerial views of the landscape and dinosaurs below.

It is perfect for those looking for scenic views.

Jurassic World Adventure
This ride is action-packed, and it takes you deep into Isla Nublar on the A.T.L.A.S. (All Terrain Luxury Automated System).

It allows you feel like you are navigating through dense jungle paths. You will come face-to-face with iconic dinosaurs like the fearsome T. rex and the intelligent Indominus rex.

Raptor Encounter

No trip to Jurassic World Isla Nublar is complete without a visit to the Raptor Encounter.

This experience allows visitors to stand just meters away from Velociraptors, the cunning predators from the Jurassic World franchise.

Visitors can interact with a trained raptor handler and take a photo with one of these lifelike creatures. Don’t let your guard down though—they’re always watching!

Hogsmeade Village

Inspired by the magical town in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, Hogsmeade Village invites visitors to wander its snow-dusted rooftops and cobblestone streets.

This iconic village features locations like Honeydukes. Visitors can also stop by The Three Broomsticks to enjoy a Butterbeer, just as described in the stories.

For those looking for magical pranks and jokes, Zonko’s Joke Shop offers an array of whimsical and humorous items straight from the books.

Hogwarts Castle

Towering over the village, Hogwarts Castle houses Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, a ride that follows adventures similar to those in the series.

As visitors explore the castle, they will pass by iconic locations like the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, the Gryffindor Common Room, and the Sorting Hat.

One unique highlight is a recreation of The Monster Book of Monsters, the dangerous textbook with snapping teeth.

Visitors can also see a detailed recreation of a phoenix statue, representing Fawkes, Dumbledore’s loyal magical phoenix companion.

This iconic statue stands as the magical guardian to the entrance of Dumbledore’s office, capturing the essence of the revered headmaster’s connection to his trusted companion.

Fans of the books will also enjoy exploring Ollivanders, where they can experience the famous moment when “the wand chooses the wizard.”

In addition, the interactive wands available at the park allow visitors to cast spells at designated locations throughout Hogsmeade, making magic come to life.

Owl Post

Hogsmeade also features the Owl Post, where visitors can send postcards stamped with an official Hogsmeade postmark, just like in the Wizarding World.

For even more magical fun, visitors can browse Dervish and Banges, a shop filled with wizarding supplies, Quidditch gear, and souvenirs.

This area of the park captures the essence of Rowling’s magical world, offering fans a chance to walk through a part of the story.

Inspired by the Despicable Me franchise, this zone offers rides like Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and the carnival-style Super Silly Fun Land.

Ticketing and Admission

Universal Studios Beijing offers several ticketing options:

  • 1-day tickets: CNY 363–533
  • 1.5-day tickets: CNY 625–850
  • 2-day combination tickets: CNY 680–935

Express passes start at CNY 110 for single attractions and go up to CNY 900 for full-day access.

Tickets can be booked online or purchased on-site, but advance booking is recommended during peak seasons.

Dining and Food Policies

Dining options include Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade and Mr. Ping’s Noodle Shop in Kung Fu Panda Land.

For those with a sweet tooth, don’t miss Candy Smith, located inside the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen. Here you can buy a variety of handmade sweets and chocolates.

Sushi lovers can also visit The Cowfish to enjoy meals that combine the best of burgers and sushi.

Visitors are allowed to bring outside food, provided it is for personal consumption and doesn’t require heating or processing. However, alcoholic beverages and foods with strong odors are prohibited.

Best Times for Visiting Universal Studios Beijing

  • Spring (March to May): The pleasant weather during spring makes it an ideal time for exploring the park. With blooming flowers and moderate temperatures, you can enjoy the attractions without discomfort from extreme weather.

  • Autumn (September to November): This season offers cooler temperatures and less rainfall, providing a great atmosphere for outdoor activities.

Tips for Visiting Universal Studios Beijing

It a good idea to arrive early to beat the crowds. Arriving early allows you enjoy popular attractions without long waits.

Arrive Early to the Park

The park is huge so wear comfortable clothing and shoes. You will most probably have a full day of walking and activities. When I visited the park, I spent almost my entire day there.

Use the park map to prioritize must-see attractions and plan your day effectively.
