The series includes forbidden romance, slow-burn tension, morally gray characters, horror elements, ancient gods, cursed kingdoms, and a detailed magic system. The books follow one continuing story and should be read in order.

The Eating Woods Series Order of Reading

Book 1: Anathema (2024)

Maevyth Bronwick has spent her life fearing the Eating Woods, a forbidden forest where people are sent to die. When a tragic event leads to her banishment, she crosses the Witch Knell and enters a realm no mortal is meant to reach. Beyond the woods, Maevyth finds cursed souls, dangerous creatures, and Zevander Rydainn, an immortal assassin who has been ordered to keep her hidden or kill her.

Maevyth soon learns that her blood is connected to a sleeping evil, while Zevander’s fate is tied to an ancient prophecy. Their growing attraction could place both worlds in danger.

Anathema introduces Maevyth, Zevander, the Eating Woods, Mortasia, and the magical conflict that continues throughout the trilogy.

Book 2: Eldritch (2025)

Spoiler warning: The following description contains information about events in Anathema.

Eldritch continues Maevyth and Zevander’s story as they travel through the mortal lands. A dangerous magic has awakened, bringing flesh-eating creatures and a spreading curse to Foxglove Parish. Their only possible escape leads through the Eating Woods, but returning to Aethyria becomes increasingly difficult. As secrets about Maevyth’s past are revealed, Zevander begins losing his strength and control.

The second book expands the history of the characters, the magical realms, and the prophecy connecting Maevyth and Zevander.

Book 3: Vasmora (2026)

Vasmora is the third and final book in The Eating Woods trilogy. It is scheduled for release on October 6, 2026. In the conclusion of this trilogy, an ancient prophecy moves closer to fulfillment as a sleeping god awakens and the threat against Aethyria grows. Maevyth’s blood remains central to the struggle, while Zevander is determined to find her and punish those responsible for separating them.

The final book will conclude Maevyth and Zevander’s story and resolve the conflict involving the ancient gods, the cursed realms, and the future of Aethyria.
