Colorful Beef Kebab Recipe

Delicious steak kebabs on skewers with tomatoes, onions, red, orange and green peppers.

Equipment

  • Cutting Board For preparing the beef and vegetables.
  • Sharp Knife To cut the beef and veggies into even pieces.
  • Mixing Bowl For preparing the marinade.
  • Tongs To turn the skewers during cooking.
  • Wooden or metal skewers Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before use to prevent burning.
  • Grill If you chose this method (Outdoor or indoor grill).
  • Baking sheet or broiler pan or Foil Paper If you chose this method (for broiling or baking).
  • Stovetop If you chose this method (Grill pan or skillet).
  • Air Fryer If you chose this method
  • Basting brush optional (brush on additional marinade while cooking).
  • Serving platter optional (for presenting the finished kebabs).

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb beef sirloin cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 red bell pepper cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 yellow bell pepper cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 green bell pepper cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 large red onion cut into wedges
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

Marinate the Beef:

  • In a bowl, mix olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, paprika, cumin, black pepper, and salt.
  • Add the beef cubes to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are coated. 
  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to infuse the meat.

Prepare the Vegetables:

  • While the beef marinates, cut the red, yellow, and green bell peppers into 1-inch pieces.

  •  Peel and cut the onion into wedges.
  • Set aside the cherry tomatoes.

Assemble the Kebabs:

  • Thread the marinated beef cubes, bell peppers, onion wedges, and cherry tomatoes alternately onto the skewers.

  • Leave some space between the pieces for even cooking.

Cooking Methods:

  • Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the kebabs for about 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked and the vegetables are charred.
  • Oven (Broil): Preheat the broiler. Place the skewers on a baking sheet and broil for 8–10 minutes, turning once, until browned and slightly charred.

  • Oven (Bake): Preheat to 400°F (200°C). Bake the kebabs for 15–20 minutes, turning halfway, until the beef is cooked and vegetables are caramelized.
  • Stovetop (Grill Pan/Skillet): Preheat the pan over medium-high heat and lightly oil it. Cook the kebabs for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally.
  • Air Fryer: Preheat to 400°F (200°C). Cook the kebabs for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Serve:

  • Let the kebabs rest for a few minutes after cooking.
  • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces or sides!
